A PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. Oh God, you instructed the hearts of those who believed in you by the light of the Holy Spirit. Grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in his consolation: through Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR THOSE WE LOVE
Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come; knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A GENERAL INTERCESSION
Almighty and ever-living God, who by your holy Apostle has taught us to make prayers, and supplications, and to give thanks for all men; We humbly ask you most mercifully to inspire continually the Universal Church with the spirit of truth, unity, and concord: And grant that all those who do confess your holy Name may agree in the truth of your holy Word, and live in unity and godly love. We ask you also, so to direct and dispose the hearts of all Christian Rulers, that they may truly and impartially administer justice, to the punishment of wickedness and vice, and to the maintenance of your true religion, and virtue. Give grace, O heavenly Father, to all Bishops and other Ministers, that they may, both by their life and doctrine, set forth your true and lively Word, and rightly and duly administer your holy Sacraments. And to all your People give your heavenly grace; and especially to this fellowship here present; that, with meek heart and due reverence, they may hear, and receive your holy Word; truly serving you in holiness and righteousness all the days of their life. And we most humbly ask you, of your goodness, O Lord, to comfort and support all those who, in this transitory life, are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity. And we also bless your holy Name for all thy servants departed this life in your faith and fear; asking you to grant them continual growth in your love and service, and to give us grace so to follow their good examples, that with them we may be partakers of your heavenly kingdom. Grant this, O Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

FOR THE POOR, HOMELESS, AND NEGLECTED
O God, Almighty and merciful, who heals those that are broken in heart, and turns the sadness of the sorrowful to joy; Let your fatherly goodness be upon all that you have made. Remember in pity such as are this day destitute, homeless, or forgotten of their fellow men. Bless the congregation of your poor. Uplift those who are cast down. Mightily befriend innocent sufferers, and sanctify to them the endurance of their wrongs. Cheer with hope all discouraged and unhappy people, and by your heavenly grace preserve from falling those tempted to sin; though they be troubled on every side, suffer them not to be distressed; though they be perplexed, save them from despair. Grant this, O Lord, for the love of him, who for our sakes became poor, your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

FOR THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH
O gracious Father, we humbly entreat you for you holy catholic Church; that you would be pleased to fill it with all truth, in all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is error, direct it; where it is in anything amiss, reform it. Where it is right, establish it; where it is in want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake of him who died and rose again, and ever lives to make intercession for us, Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.

FOR THE UNITY OF GOD’S PEOPLE
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior, the Prince of Peace; Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord: that as there is but one Body and one Spirit, and one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR THOSE WHO MOURN
Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of all comfort; Deal graciously, we pray you, with all those who mourn, that, casting every care on thee, they may know the consolation of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR ONE IN NEED
O Lord, look down from heaven, behold, visit, and relieve your child, . Look upon him with the eyes of your mercy, give him comfort and sure confidence in you, defend him in all danger, and keep him in perpetual peace and safety; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR ONE WHO IS ILL
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers; Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your child, , the help of your power, that his sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR OUR COUNTRY
Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly ask you that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought here out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in you to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH
O Lord our Governor, whose glory is in all the world; We commend this nation to your merciful care, that being guided by your Providence, we may dwell secure in your peace. Grant to The President of the United States, to the Governor of this State, and to all in authority, wisdom and strength to know and to do your will. Fill them with the love of truth and righteousness; and make them ever mindful of their calling to serve this people in your fear; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

FOR THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH
O God, the fountain of wisdom, whose statues are good and gracious and whose law is truth, we ask you so to guide and bless our Senators and Representatives in Congress assembled, that they may ordain for our governance only such things as please you, to the glory of your name and the welfare of the people; through Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Lord. Amen.

FOR THE JUDICIAL BRANCH
Almighty God, who sits in the throne judging right; We humbly ask you to bless the courts of justice and magistrates in all this land; and give unto them the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that they may discern the truth, and impartially administer the law in the fear of you alone; through him who shall come to be our Judge, your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

FOR OUR MILITARY
O Lord God of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray you, your Almighty arm to strengthen and protect the Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen of our country. Preserve them from all dangers on land, sea, or air, and from the violence of the enemy, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYERS FOR THE DEPARTED
Remember, O Lord, our parents and relations who have fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection, and all those who have ended their lives in piety and faith. Forgive them all their transgressions, both voluntary and involuntary, committed by them in word or deed or in thought. Set them in bright places of light, in places of green pasture, in places of rest whence all pain, sorrow and sighing have fled away, and where the light of your countenance shines and gladdens forever all your saints. Grant unto them and unto us your Kingdom and participation in your indescribable and eternal blessings, and to delight in your unending and blessed life. For you are the Life, the Resurrection and the Rest of your servants who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and we render glory to you, with your Eternal Father, and with your All-holy, Gracious and Life-giving Spirit, now and forever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Grant, we ask of you, O Lord our God, that the souls of your servants and handmaidens, the memory of whom we keep with special reverence, and for whom we are bidden and are bound to pray, and the souls of all our benefactors, relatives and connections, and all the faithful, may rest in the company of your saints; and hereafter, in the resurrection from the dead, may please you in the land of the living. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Remember, O Lord, the God of Spirits and of all Flesh, those whom we have remembered and those whom we have not remembered, men of the true faith, from righteous Abel unto today; do you yourself give them rest there in the land of the living, in thy kingdom, in the delight of Paradise, from where pain and sorrow and sighing have fled away, where the light of your countenance visits them and always shines upon them. Amen.
